The Grand Bend Farmers’ Market (FMO) was created in spring of 2006. This was done through a collaborative effort of the community, a service club and local farmers. Our guide through the beginning chaos was Farmers’ Markets Ontario with Bob Chorney at the helm. We came away from our first informational meeting with a committee, duties to perform and vendors for our market. FMO started us on the right track and has helped us to maintain our focus.
The Grand Bend Farmers’ Market can now boast of up to 25 vendors at the peak of the season and hundreds of customers weekly through out the entire season, come rain/shine. The following are some of our accomplishments:

Dining partner program (seven restaurants)
Local talent busking
Imported Entertainment (Main Street Players)
Special events
Organic produce vendors
Donations made to community causes.
The Grand Bend Farmers’ Market has developed the standard of a quality market with fresh produce picked within 24 hours of the market, with friendly smiling faces behind the vendors’ tables and an atmosphere of a social gathering place. Even our vendors sometimes spend more time talking with their customers than selling their goods.
The Grand Bend Farmers’ Market is open every Wednesday 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM from the first Wednesday after Victoria Day to the Last Wednesday prior to Thanksgiving (October for us Canucks). Check us out. We’ll work hard at getting you to come back again, and again, and again………
